About the First Lady

Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith.  Colossians 2:7

Evangelist Nancy Johnson is truly a woman that is rooted and built up in Him, Him being none other than Jesus Christ. For you cannot put trust in man, as he will truly let you down.

Mother Johnson, as she is often called at God’s House of Deliverance and by others, truly stands on the word of God and is a mother in Zion, that corrects at home and reachs out to others.

Evangelist Nancy Johnson

Evangelist Johnson was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1976, in Greensboro, North Carolina at the Powerhouse of Deliverance Church, under the leadership of the late Bishop J.H. Covington.

While at Powerhouse of Deliverance Church, Evangelist Johnson faithfully worked as a deaconess for over 20 years. She was also President of the Young Adult Missionaries, serving with the Senior Missionaries, was President of the Gospel Choir, and was Assistant Church Secretary.

The “Rose in January” program at God’s House of Deliverance Church was established by Evangelist Johnson to honor the late First Lady of Powerhouse of Deliverance Church, Mother Florence Elizabeth Covington.

Working along side her husband of 38 years, Evangelist Johnson still wears many hats in the church. Out of all the gifts that God has given to Evangelist Johnson, the one she cherishes most is the ability to preach His word to dying men and women so that they may be saved.
